Universities Should Be Launchpads, Not Just Lecture Halls
Is a university degree just a piece of paper, or is it a ticket to a thriving professional ecosystem?
In the rapidly evolving world of the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), the traditional “lecture hall” model, where students passively consume information, is no longer enough. At DigiCreate Empower, we believe that for education to be meaningful, universities must act as launchpads: hubs of innovation that propel students directly into the international market.
The Science of Transformation: What is HEInnovate?
This vision isn’t just a goal; it is backed by the highest standards of European education policy. We align our project activities with the HEInnovate self-assessment tool, a joint initiative of the European Commission and the OECD.
HEInnovate provides a framework for higher education institutions to become more entrepreneurial and future-ready. By utilizing this framework, universities can:
- Move from Intuition to Insight: Using evidence-based self-assessments to identify institutional strengths.
- Build a Shared Vision: Creating a common language for change between leadership, staff, and students.
- Turn Reflection into Action: Using practical tools and “Action Cards” to design strategic roadmaps that yield real-world results.
- Connect to the EU Ecosystem: Linking local institutional change to broader European innovation networks and funding opportunities.
How DigiCreate is Building the Infrastructure
Our consortium unites:
- 3 university partners: Univerzitet Union Nikola Tesla (UniTesla), Javna Ustanova Univerzitet Crne Gore Podgorica (UoM) & Fakultet Za Poslovnu Ekonomiju I Pravo Bar (FPEP Bar)
- 2 youth organizations: Youth Power Germany EV (YP-DE) & Udruzenje Okret (SPIN)
- 1 SME: Evolutionary Archetypes Consulting SL (EAC), and
- 1 NGO: Cooperativa Para O Desenvolvimento E Coesão Social, CRL (Contextos)
Together, we are bridging the gap between higher education, youth training, and the professional CCI sector across 6 countries. We’re not just talking about creativity; we’re building the infrastructure for it.
The DigiCreate project is a practical application of these principles. We are not just discussing creativity; we are building the transnational infrastructure required to support it across six countries.
By integrating these institutions into a global creative web, spanning Germany, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Montenegro, we ensure that young creatives have the digital mastery and networking power they need to succeed.
