Digital Education Builds Entrepreneurial Confidence

Recent research provides strong evidence that digital education has a direct impact on how confident students feel about starting digital projects.

How Digital Education Sparks Entrepreneurial Intention in Young Creatives

Digital transformation continues to reshape how young people learn, create, and build careers. For the cultural and creative sectors, this shift opens new opportunities for learners who want to experiment with ideas, explore new tools, and turn their creative practice into something entrepreneurial. Recent research provides strong evidence that digital education has a direct impact on how confident students feel about starting digital projects.

A 2023 study conducted among 270 university students in Indonesia analyzed how digital entrepreneurship education influences entrepreneurial intention. Using structural equation modeling, the study found that digital learning environments do more than develop technical skills. They strengthen students’ intuition for recognising opportunities. They also increase students’ ability to use social media as a space for exploration, collaboration, and early experimentation. These two factors (intuition and social media platform usage) served as key mediators for strengthening the intention to initiate digital ventures.

The findings suggest that entrepreneurship becomes more accessible when learners have hands-on digital tools, room to experiment, and environments where sharing and feedback are encouraged. Digitalization plays a central role in shaping motivation and behaviour. Students who actively create content, test ideas, and collaborate online show stronger belief in their ability to turn a concept into a viable project.

DigiCreate Empower builds directly on this dynamic. The project supports young creatives through digital creation workshops, AI and design toolkits, collaborative sessions, and opportunities to share early prototypes. Learners use social platforms not only to showcase work but also to refine ideas, connect with peers, and build small creative ecosystems around their practice. This supports a culture of experimentation and makes entrepreneurial behaviour feel achievable.

By strengthening digital confidence and creative autonomy, DigiCreate helps young people navigate the opportunities emerging in Europe’s cultural and creative sectors. Digital skills, when paired with artistic expression and collaboration, become a catalyst for new ideas. They also offer practical pathways for young creators who want to develop projects with social or cultural impact.

Digital education is no longer an optional supplement. It is an essential driver for shaping the next generation of creative entrepreneurs.
